Welcome to the "Isomers of Fran” research!

This research was inspired by the CrossFit Journal article "Fooling around with Fran", published in 2005. In the article, CrossFit creator Greg Glassman comes up with a method to measure the intensity (= average mechanical power) of the WOD Fran, and then compares intensity and performance of variations of Fran, including changes in structure and load.
The article ends by proposing a challenge for CrossFit nerds to investigate ... and we accept the challenge!

Therefore, in the coming 5 weeks, we will conduct an experiment to gather as much data as possibly can about the different variations of the WOD "Fran" proposed in the article.
Each week, we will perform a different isomer or variation.

The experiment schedule will be:
27/04 - 03/05 - Fran 5x9
04/05 - 10/05 - Fran 45/45
11/05 - 17/05 - "Anorexic" Fran
18/05 - 24/05 - Fran
25/05 - 31/05 - "Fat" Fran
* Details about each Fran at the bottom of the page!

To participate, you will need to do the Fran isomer of the week and fill out the form below!
All movements must be performed following CrossFit movement standards, in order to allow for later analysis and comparison. Each week, we will update the form according to the schedule above.

To support this initiative:
•    Do the WOD and fill in the form;
•    Share with your friends and CrossFit community;
•    Program the Fran isomer of the week at your affiliate and ask your athletes to fill in the form!

"Fooling around with Fran" analyzed only one athlete ... now think about what we can achieve together with the whole community participating in the experiment!
Let’s make this study the biggest study of the CrossFit community? 

To stay tuned, follow @danielcandiani and @sabionimah on Instagram.
After the end of the 5 weeks of experiment, we will make a series of videos, lives and all kinds of content, sharing all the analysis and results with the whole CrossFit community!
